We're looking for an experienced Equipment Operator who can do more than just operate the controls. S&S Plumbing Contractors is looking for a dependable, experienced Equipment Operator - Commercial Plumbing Construction to join our Commercial New Construction team. This position works directly with our plumbing crews performing excavation and underground work on commercial jobsites throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas. We need someone who understands safe excavation, grade and elevations, underground utilities, and how to work from construction plans . When equipment operation is not needed, you will work alongside and assist our plumbing crew. What You'll Do Safely operate mini/mid size excavators, skidsteers and other construction equipment on commercial jobsites Excavate trenches for underground plumbing and utility installations, maintaining proper grade, depth, slope, and elevations Read construction plans and work around existing underground utilities Backfill, compact, and assist with site restoration Load, unload, transport, inspect, and help maintain equipment Follow jobsite, trenching, excavation, and company safety requirements Work closely with our plumbing crews and assist with plumbing construction when equipment operation is not needed What We're Looking For Proven excavator experience in a construction environment Experience excavating to grade and working from elevations Know of soil classifications strongly preferred Commercial underground plumbing, utility, or sitework experience preferred Valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record Experience safely transporting equipment and trailers Equipment/operator certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain them Current TSBPE Apprentice Plumber registration is a plus; must be willing and eligible to obtain one if required Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work well as part of a crew Strong work ethic with verifiable work references Must meet company pre-employment screening requirements, including background check and drug screening What We Offer $26-$30/hour DOE Monday-Friday schedule Local San Antonio-area projects Paid Holidays & PTO Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Company-paid Life Insurance AFLAC Company-paid training and licensing Opportunities to learn the plumbing trade and advance within the company Supportive, team-oriented work environment Build a Career With S&S S&S Plumbing Contractors is a family-owned company celebrating 20 years in business .
