Metro Communication Systems, Inc. is a service provider for multi-family communities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Metro began in the late 1990s and is headquartered in Southlake, TX. We perform fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire extinguisher, backflow, gate, garage, access control, CCTV and intrusion alarm services.

Job Position Description:

Metro is in search of a Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our team! In this position, you will utilize your skills to maintain and repair water based automatic fire sprinkler systems. An ideal candidate already has 2-3 years of experience in this industry already.

Physical Setting and Schedule:

Metro is located in Southlake, TX. Our schedule is Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with a one-hour lunch. Technicians are also on an on-call rotation with 24-hour response.

Responsibilities:

Below are some job responsibilities the candidate will be in charge of.

• Identify the different water based automatic fire sprinkler systems to take them out of service for repair and bring them back online when repairs are completed
• Make repairs to systems made of CPVC, Copper, SCH 10 and 40 pipe
• Diagnose dry systems, compressors, water motor gongs and alarm devices
• Make repairs in riser rooms to supervised control valves, flow switches, check valves, etc.
• Make repairs in attics on dry systems
• Fill out invoices, POs, and route sheets on a daily basis
• Maintain a clean and organized work truck
• Follow proper risk management and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
• Must have a clean driving record
• Must have reliable transport to work
• Confidant ability to safely drive work vehicles
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of hand and power tools as well as hand groovers and power machines
• Comfortable working from ladders
• Working knowledge of multimeter and comfortable with minor electrical wiring
• Able to write legibly on paper work
• Effective in both verbal and written communication with customers and manager of department
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work in attics and other tight areas to get jobs completed
• Strong attention to detail and Cleanliness
• Sprinkler and Backflow license is a plus
• Basic codes that pertain to multifamily dwellings is a plus
