A Pipe Fitter installs and repairs pipe systems in commercial or industrial and manufacturing structures, such as pipes for heating and cooling systems. Works on pipes that carry gas, sprinkler systems, or pipes that carry steam under pressure.
$18 - $24 per hour, depending on experience About the Position We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Laborer / Pipelayer to join our excavation crew. This position will include but is not limited to assisting with excavation, underground utility installation, pipe laying, site cleanup, and general construction duties. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and able to work effectively as part of a crew. Responsibilities Assist with excavation and underground utility installation. Perform pipe laying, grading, bedding, and backfilling. Work around excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment. Assist with setting pipe, fittings, manholes, and other underground utilities. Use hand tools and basic construction equipment safely. Measure, check grades, and assist the operator and foreman as directed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform general labor and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Construction or excavation experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Experience as a pipelayer or excavation laborer is a plus. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, digging, bending, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and in excavation areas. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance is a must. Ability to follow directions and work well with a crew.
