What You'll Be Doing Install, fit, and assemble industrial piping systems in active school construction environments Perform TIG and stick welding on pipe and plate to meet project specs and quality standards Weld joints including socket, butt, consumable ring, backing ring, and open butt welds Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and weld procedures Complete light fabrication and support work as needed on site Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused work area Work collaboratively with other skilled trades to keep projects on schedule Follow all site safety rules, company policies, and quality standards Use your own basic tools when required What We're Looking For 3+ years of industrial pipefitting and welding experience Strong working knowledge of TIG and stick welding Proven experience welding multiple joint types and materials Ability to read blueprints and piping drawings confidently Solid industrial or construction‑site pipefitting experience Attention to detail with a strong focus on weld quality and fit‑up Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in active job sites Able to clearly explain your previous pipe systems and project experience during interviews Dependable, safety‑minded, and ready to work extended schedules when needed Why This Opportunity Stands Out Strong earning potential: $50K-$75K+ per year with consistent hours Stable, long‑term work: School construction projects with reliable schedules Plenty of hours: Day shift with overtime opportunities for those who want it Work you can be proud of: Projects that support schools and communities Team environment: Work alongside skilled tradespeople who value quality and reliability Skill‑driven role: Your experience and craftsmanship directly impact success on site Work Schedule & Environment Day shift: Typically 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM , 6-7 days per week Job sites located at school facilities in Smithfield, VA Construction and industrial environments with moderate to high noise levels Work includes standing, bending, stooping, reaching, confined space work, and heights Exposure to varying weather conditions Standard industrial welding and pipefitting tools used (basic personal tools may be required) Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chesapeake, VA.
