Pipelayer

• Qualifications:

• + Minimum of 1 year experience on a utility crew + Working knowledge of shoring and excavation + Ability to read cut/grade sheets + Work in outdoor environments in all seasons + Be comfortable working alongside heavy equipment and able to communicate with operators, workers and pedestrians + Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening

• Responsibilities:

• + Installation and repair of waterline, sanitary sewer and storm sewer + Ability to align and position pipes to prepare them for joining.

+ Ability to connect pipe pieces and seal joints + Install and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels + Ability to check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers + Assist with the covering of pipes with earth or other materials. + Cut pipes to required lengths + Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools + Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools + Work in confined and enclosed spaces + Willing to train others in pipe-laying and provide supervision. + Ensure the company's health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met + Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and co-workers

• Working Hours:

• Typical start time varies between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights and weekends may be required.
