Now Hiring:
Specialty Pipe Welders (Aluminum, CuNi, Stainless, TIG)
Location:
Marinette, Wisconsin NSC Staffing is currently hiring Journeyman Specialty Pipe Welders for long-term shipyard work in Marinette, WI. This position supports repair, modernization, and new construction of U.S. Naval, Military Sealift Command, and commercial vessels.
Pay & Per Diem:
$32/hr + $130/day Per Diem (for qualified travelers)
Position Overview:
Welders will perform pipe welding on Aluminum, Copper-Nickel (CuNi), Stainless Steel, and Carbon Steel in a production shipyard environment. Candidates must be experienced, test-ready, and capable of meeting strict marine and NAVSEA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform pipe welding using GTAW (TIG), SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW Weld CuNi, Aluminum, Stainless, and Carbon Steel pipe systems Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings Complete P-3 joints with backing rings and P-14 socket welds Inspect welds and ensure compliance with NAVSEA, ABS, and MSC standards Prepare work areas and support hot work operations Complete condition reports and assist with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures Maintain safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and shipyard standards
Qualifications:
Minimum 4+ years of pipe welding experience in a shipyard or industrial setting Must be able to pass weld tests in Aluminum, CuNi, Stainless, or TIG (GTAW) Experience with NAVSEA standards and marine vessel repair preferred Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights Strong knowledge of pipe welding procedures and safety practices
Work Environment:
Shipyard setting (indoor/outdoor exposure) Confined spaces, heights, and physically demanding conditions PPE required at all times How to
