Job Description

The Pipefitter installs, repairs, and maintains shipboard and industrial piping systems in accordance with specifications, drawings, and safety requirements. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in confined or elevated spaces.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years industrial pipefitting experience, including 2 years in shipbuilding Ability to read and interpret installation drawings Skilled in torch cutting, brazing, and use of mechanical hand tools Ability to measure/template pipe, fit up systems, and inspect work for defects Knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Machinery/Pipe Re-entry Procedures Physically able to pull 1½"+ hoses, work in tight spaces, and follow all safety policies Strong math, measurement, and organizational skills Understanding of Navy ship piping systems and related testing procedures
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare work areas, verify gas-free certifications and tag-outs Run lines and leads; perform drop tests when required Fit, assemble, and install piping, flanges, valves, and fittings per specifications Ensure strain-free fit-ups to pumps and equipment Conduct system testing (oil/water) per FMM 2C and operational tests per FMM 4C Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise Coordinate with welders, fire watch, and supervision on work sequencing and safety Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment at all times Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) and report deficiencies promptly
Work Expectations:
Arrive on time, follow shift schedules, and complete assigned tasks Work overtime or alternate shifts when required Adhere to all safety, quality, and company procedures
Pay:
$30-$33/hour + Per Diem if qualified
Schedule:
Must be available to work any of the below schedules Monday-Thursday 5am-3pm Monday-Thursday 4pm-2am Sunday, Friday, Saturday 5am-5pm, Thursday 5am-9am Sunday, Friday, Saturday 5pm-5am, Thursday 5am-9am #I08
