Key Responsibilities Respond to locate requests and accurately identify underground utilities using maps, blueprints, and electronic locating equipment. Mark utility lines clearly and safely using paint, flags, or stakes according to industry standards and local regulations. Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to coordinate locate activities. Maintain detailed records of locate activities, including location reports and documentation of any discrepancies or issues. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during locate operations. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment. Assist in training new technicians as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred. Familiarity with underground utility systems and industry standards (e.g., APWA Uniform Color Code). Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. Work Environment This position involves working primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
