Position Summary The Compressor Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of Rogue Industrial Group's pipeline and compression infrastructure in the Carlsbad region. This hands-on role supports daily field activities including equipment inspections, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, pigging operations, and production optimization. Operators are expected to work both independently and as part of a team on a rotational 14-days on / 14-days off schedule. Primary Responsibilities Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain pipeline equipment, compression units, pumps, motors, and related systems. Perform regular maintenance on centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, including seal/bearing replacements, coupling alignments, and startup support. Support pigging operations (cleaning and ILI), including launching, tracking, and receiving pigs. Monitor SCADA and field data systems to identify issues and respond to abnormal conditions. Respond to operational upsets, shutdowns, or alarms in the field, including after-hours call-outs as needed. Perform minor instrumentation, electrical, and control troubleshooting. Record and maintain accurate maintenance logs, shift summaries, and inspection reports. Participate in equipment change-outs, rebuilds, and field upgrades. Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures, and participate in Operator Qualification (OQ) and regulatory compliance programs. Assist with startup, shutdown, and commissioning of new or returning equipment. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience in midstream, pipeline, plant, or compressor station operations. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on pumps, valves, and rotating equipment. Working knowledge of
SCADA, PLC/HMI
systems, and field instrumentation. Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Proficient in basic computer applications (Excel, Word, email, mobile data entry). Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with gas compression, dehydration, and NGL handling. Familiarity with safety programs, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance.
