Power Innovation | Williams What You'll Experience As an Operations Technician with pipeline responsibilities, you'll support one of Williams' largest installations of horsepower, power distribution, pipeline infrastructure, and environmental compliance systems. You'll gain experience with: Gas turbines and high-speed reciprocating engines Medium-voltage generators and power distribution systems Distributed control systems and environmental controls Pipeline systems, valves, rights-of-way, and associated equipment Damage prevention, line locating, leak detection, inspections, and preventive maintenance Daily monitoring and inspection of two Compressor Booster Stations Environmental compliance, spill prevention, emissions awareness, and field documentation You'll also support construction projects, troubleshooting, equipment reliability initiatives, and technical problem-solving while developing your operational expertise. What You'll Do Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot facility and pipeline assets while meeting safety, regulatory, and operational requirements Support damage prevention activities, one-call coordination, line locating, right-of-way awareness, and excavation safety Perform leak detection, pipeline inspections, patrols, valve checks, and preventive maintenance Conduct daily inspections and monitoring of Compressor Booster Stations, including equipment rounds, alarm reviews, and operating condition checks Support environmental compliance through permit awareness, emissions observations, spill prevention, waste management, and reporting Analyze operational data and help resolve technical challenges Follow company procedures and safety standards Maintain knowledge of site equipment, pipeline systems, permits, drawings, and operating procedures Complete accurate documentation, reports, logs, inspection records, and maintenance records Support additional projects and operational activities as assigned Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to work overtime and travel between locations Ability to work in adverse weather, elevated areas, and while wearing PPE Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Commitment to safety and operational excellence Ability to learn pipeline safety, damage prevention, line locating, inspections, leak detection, and environmental compliance practices Technical Skills Microsoft Office and PC applications Ability to learn and implement new technologies Familiarity with pipeline maps, one-call tickets, inspection records, and maintenance systems Experience using gas detection equipment, locating tools, and field documentation processes Ability to identify, document, and communicate environmental compliance concerns Work Environment & Schedule Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures, noise, and confined spaces Lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding activities for extended periods Work at heights using appropriate PPE Use hand tools regularly Work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime Conduct outdoor patrols, inspections, and field verification activities in varying weather conditions Travel routinely between Compressor Booster Stations and occasionally overnight Perform work in accordance with environmental and housekeeping standards We welcome candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experiences — if you don't meet every qualification, this role may be filled at a level that aligns with your skills and growth potential. #LI-RS1 We invest in our people in ways that actually show up in your day-to-day, not just on paper.
