Job Title:
SUE Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled SUE Technician who will be responsible for identifying, mapping, and documenting underground utilities using a combination of records research, geophysical tools, excavation methods, and advanced survey techniques. The main objective is to assist the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew. Responsibilities + Assist the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew. + Develop and utilize learned skills by safely operating SUE field equipment, including ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic designating equipment, sewer camera, probe rod, jackhammer, chop saw, pneumatic tampers, and vacuum excavation equipment. + Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all job site safety parameters. + Assist with maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and work sites. + Adhere to all company policies and procedures. + Some overnight travel may be required. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Proficiency with survey equipment such as total stations and GPS. + Experience with SUE locating equipment or hydrographic equipment. + Ability to walk outdoors for long periods through various terrains and under adverse conditions. + Technical proficiency and process orientation. + Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry, and operate equipment as needed. + Ability to work unsupervised when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School/GED or equivalent preferred. + Specialized training from a vocational-technical school or a minimum of 2 years' experience as a SUE Technician 1. + Current Commercial Driver's License is a plus. + Experience with checks for Nuclear Facilities is beneficial. + Background and motor vehicle checks, and pre-employment drug screening are conditions of employment. Work Environment The role requires extensive walking outside year-round through various terrains and extreme weather conditions. The position is 100% field-based, traveling to jobs across the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, and other locations. Work may exceed 50 hours during busy periods and requires travel around the Sarasota area daily, with occasional overnight travel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Greenville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
