Job Description

Marana is one of the fastest-growing communities in Southern Arizona, located approximately 20 minutes northwest of downtown Tucson and 75 minutes southeast of Phoenix. Dedicated Service, Respect, Teamwork, and Engaged Innovation The Town of Marana is seeking a Crew Lead with concrete experience to work in the Public Works Department with the Street Maintenance Division. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working as a skilled laborer responsible for finishing concrete surfaces and supporting and upholding the Town's cultural values.

Expected Hiring Range:
$23.42/hour
  • $28.
69/hour Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.

96/hour Leads and trains assigned staff and provides service to customers. Utilizes various techniques to complete and create different textures and finishes on concrete surfaces; reads and follows specifications and works with other trades to ensure that the finished product meets Town requirements. Removes and replaces concrete such as ADA's, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools; forms expansion joints, installs anchor bolts, and steel plates Performs routine skilled maintenance tasks; inspects, cleans, and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems. Performs work duties and operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Tracks and manages work orders, workflow, materials, and supplies. Call, clear, and document Blue Stake. High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training. Over three (3) years in a closely related field. Valid Arizona Driver License. Class A CDL w/Tanker Endorsement/Az pesticides certificate or must obtain within 6 months of hire date. Must complete a pre-employment physical including audiogram and pass a 50-pound lift test. Complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Over three (3) years of street construction/maintenance experience or closely related field. Public Sector experience in municipal, county, or state government. Possess one year (or more) of experience in a Lead position.
