Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Painter to oversee and execute high-quality painting projects across residential, commercial, and renovation sites. As a key leader on our team, you will coordinate painting crews, ensure safety standards are met, and deliver exceptional results that enhance the aesthetic and structural integrity of our clients' properties. Your expertise in various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing will drive the success of our projects while maintaining efficiency and craftsmanship excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead skilled teams and contribute to transformative building improvements. Responsibilities Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple construction, renovation, or restoration projects to ensure timely completion with superior quality. Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Execute residential and commercial painting tasks using hand tools, power tools, airless spray equipment, and other industry-standard methods. Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specific surface requirements. Perform detailed surface preparation including stucco application, masonry work, drywall finishing, trim carpentry, framing, and fixture installation as needed. Manage materials inventory, estimate project costs accurately through construction estimating skills, and ensure proper use of supplies. Maintain safety protocols on-site by using proper protective gear and adhering to OSHA standards; conduct regular site inspections for hazards. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to coordinate schedules and communicate progress effectively. Apply diverse painting techniques such as industrial painting, restoration coatings, airless paint spraying, and specialty finishes based on project needs. Demonstrate handyman skills like welding, concrete finishing, masonry work, carpentry repairs, and general maintenance when required. Qualifications Proven experience in construction painting with a strong background in residential and commercial projects. Skilled in surface preparation techniques including plastering, caulking, stucco application, drywall finishing, and masonry work. Proficient in reading blueprints/schematics and interpreting technical drawings for accurate project execution. Familiar with construction estimating processes to assess material needs and project timelines effectively. Knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes for various surfaces. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools (including airless sprayers), scaffolding setup, welding equipment, and other industry-standard tools. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction sites; committed to maintaining a safe working environment. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities. Additional skills such as fixture installation, remodeling experience, handyman capabilities or airless paint spraying are highly desirable.
