Construction Painter

Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and power tools. Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory, and surface specifications. Perform drywall finishing, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing as needed for comprehensive renovation projects. Use construction estimating skills to assess material needs and ensure efficient use of resources on each job site. Execute industrial painting tasks including surface preparation for heavy-duty coatings on large structures or machinery. Install fixtures and perform maintenance tasks such as caulking or fixture installation to complete the project seamlessly. Qualifications Proven experience in construction painting with a strong understanding of residential and commercial painting techniques. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, welding equipment, and other relevant tools. Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for accurate measurements and calculations. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and material planning. Experience with plastering, restoration work, remodeling projects, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry, concrete finishing or masonry is highly desirable. Ability to work safely on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols; prior construction site experience is essential.
