Syracuse, NY Job Details Temporary $19 - $23 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Trim carpentry Residential painting Construction painting Welding Frame carpentry Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert painting techniques, ensuring high-quality finishes on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help bring visions to life, enhance property aesthetics, and maintain the integrity of various surfaces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your skills and expand your craftsmanship. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Execute painting tasks using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, and spray guns (including airless paint spraying), as well as tools to achieve smooth , durable finishes. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project specifications and accurately apply paint and coatings. Perform specialized painting techniques, including industrial painting, restoration, stucco application, masonry finishing, and renovation work. Install fixtures, trim carpentry, and frame carpentry, and perform masonry or masonry-related tasks as needed to complete the project. Utilize construction estimating skills to assess materials required for each project while managing time effectively on-site. Collaborate with team members on construction sites with experience in remodeling, maintenance, or construction site operations to ensure quality artistry. Skills Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for precise measurements. Proficiency in residential painting techniques, along with commercial and industrial painting applications. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, scrapers, and power tools, including airless sprayers and welding equipment. Experience with plastering, stucco application, restoration projects, fixture installation, and renovation work. Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with construction site experience. Knowledge of color theory to select appropriate hues for aesthetic consistency across projects. Ability to perform masonry tasks like concrete finishing or masonry work when required. Handyman experience, including carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry) and maintenance tasks, as well as basic welding skills, is a plus.
