This is a hands-on position assisting our plumbing technicians with service calls, commercial and residential plumbing projects, sewer work, repairs, and general job-site duties. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with their hands, wants to learn the plumbing trade, and takes pride in doing quality work. You don't necessarily need to know everything about plumbing—we are looking for someone willing to learn, work hard, follow instructions, and become a valuable part of our team. This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build experience in the plumbing industry and potentially grow into a Plumbing Technician role. Duties Assist Plumbing Technicians with service, repair, installation, and maintenance work Help diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems under the direction of experienced technicians Assist with sewer and drain cleaning, including setup and cleanup Help with hydro jetting, sewer camera inspections, and related equipment Assist with excavation, trenching, digging, and underground plumbing work when needed Load, unload, organize, and maintain plumbing tools, materials, and equipment Pick up and deliver materials and equipment to job sites Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Assist with setting up and breaking down job sites Help technicians with pipe installation, fittings, cutting, gluing, soldering, and other plumbing tasks as trained Follow all company safety policies and procedures Properly use and care for company tools, vehicles, and equipment Communicate professionally with customers, employees, and supervisors Perform general labor and other duties as assigned Be willing to learn new skills and take direction from experienced plumbers Represent ALF Plumbing in a professional and respectful manner at all times Requirements Proven construction experience with a focus on plumbing or related trades Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance Knowledge of residential and commercial plumbing systems, including water supply lines and drainage systems Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and blueprint reading skills Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plumbing inspection cameras, and company vehicles safely Mechanical knowledge of water systems, remodeling processes, and construction site procedures Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical specifications Physical ability for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and working at heights in various weather conditions This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their construction plumbing expertise while making a tangible impact on our clients' homes and businesses.
