This is a working field position — you'll be on the tools every day, but you'll also be the one making the call on what the problem is, what it takes to fix it, and what needs to happen next. You'll be our eyes and ears in the field on commercial properties, multifamily communities, retail centers, and tenant improvement projects across the Inland Empire and LA. If you're the guy other plumbers call when they're stuck, this is your seat. What You'll Be Doing Service & Diagnostics Respond to leak calls, stoppages, and emergency service requests across commercial and multifamily properties Locate and diagnose leaks in supply, waste, gas, and hydronic systems — slab, wall, underground, and roof-level Camera and locate sewer and drain lines; interpret findings and recommend repair approach Troubleshoot water heaters, boilers, recirc systems, mixing valves, backflow assemblies, and pressure-regulating equipment Installation & Repair Install, repair, and replace all types of plumbing systems and fixtures — domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, gas, storm, and hydronic Copper, PEX, CPVC, cast iron, ABS, PVC, and galvanized — press, solder, thread, solvent weld, and no-hub Commercial water heaters and tankless units, pumps, boilers, grease interceptors, floor drains, hose bibbs, and backflow devices Repipe, reroute, and drain line replacement work, including trenching, coring, and slab penetrations Fixture set-out and rough-in for tenant improvement and remodel projects Field Judgment & Reporting Assess conditions on arrival and make the call on repair vs. replace, temporary vs. permanent, and when to escalate Identify scope beyond the original call and flag it before it becomes a change order fight Document every job: written field reports, photos before and after, materials used, hours, and recommended follow-up Communicate directly and professionally with property managers, tenants, owners, and our PM team Provide material lists and rough labor estimates from the field to support pricing and proposals What We're Looking For Required 5+ years of commercial and/or multifamily plumbing experience (service and installation both) Able to work independently, prioritize your own day, and make sound decisions in the field without waiting on a phone call Strong diagnostic instincts — you find the actual problem, not just the symptom Comfortable writing clear field reports and taking useful documentation photos Responsive and reliable: answer the phone, show up on time, follow through Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record (insurable under our commercial policy) Own hand tools Able to lift 50+ lbs, work in crawl spaces, attics, trenches, and on ladders, and handle occasional after-hours or weekend emergency calls Professional appearance and conduct on occupied properties Preferred California C-36 Plumbing Contractor's License, or the experience to qualify for one Backflow prevention certification Sewer camera and line locating experience Medical gas, hydronic, or boiler experience Familiarity with commercial GC workflows — RFIs, change orders, submittals Bilingual English/Spanish Compensation & Benefits $35 - $50 per hour , depending on experience and certifications Overtime and emergency call pay Company service truck, fuel card, and specialty tools provided Health benefits Paid time off and holidays Steady year-round work with an established commercial contractor — no seasonal slow-down Real growth path: this role leads directly into a Plumbing Foreman or Service Manager seat as the division grows Conditions of Employment Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer background check and a pre-employment drug screening, along with verification of a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
