Job Description
Sierra Air, a leading Reno-based HVAC contractor, is seeking a Plumbing Installer to support residential and light commercial projects. In this field role, you'll install and retrofit plumbing systems tied to heating and cooling equipment, reading blueprints, laying out piping, soldering and brazing, and setting fixtures to code. You'll test systems, document work, and maintain clean, safe jobsites while interacting professionally with customers. Responsibilities Install residential and light commercial plumbing systems according to plans and codes Perform rough-in, finish, and retrofit plumbing on HVAC-related projects Read blueprints and job specifications to determine layout and material requirements Solder, braze, and install piping, valves, fixtures, and related components Test systems for leaks, proper flow, and code compliance; complete start-up documentation Collaborate with HVAC installers, electricians, and site supervisors for coordinated installs Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and follow all company and OSHA safety procedures Communicate professionally with customers and explain basic system functions Complete work orders, material lists, and job reports accurately and on time Participate in ongoing technical and safety training provided by Sierra Air Required Skills Plumbing system installation Pipefitting (copper, PEX, PVC) Soldering and brazing Reading blueprints and schematics Fixture and valve installation Leak detection and pressure testing Use of hand and power plumbing tools Basic HVAC system familiarity Code and safety compliance (IPC/UPC, OSHA) Job documentation and work order completion
