Overview Join a specialized, diagnostics-only firm as an Apprentice Leak Detection Technician with a clear path to becoming an independent field consultant. This role is designed for individuals with real field experience who want to apply their skills to a high-demand, specialized trade within plumbing and utilities . You will work across residential, commercial, and infrastructure environments using advanced diagnostic tools to identify leaks in complex systems. You will train directly under a senior consultant through hands-on fieldwork. This role requires a fast learner who is dedicated to building a long-term career. After training, you will be expected to operate independently, responsibly, and with sound field judgment. This is a career position—not a temporary or transitional job. What You'll Do Conduct leak detection investigations on plumbing and utility systems Utilize specialized diagnostic equipment, including: Acoustic listening devices Leak correlators Tracer gas systems Thermal imaging tools Inspect systems and interpret findings to identify leak locations Read system layouts and site conditions to support investigations Document findings and assist with client communication Transport, maintain, and properly handle sensitive diagnostic equipment Follow strict safety and job site protocols Relevant Experience & Skills Strong candidates will have experience in: Plumbing systems, troubleshooting, or service work Maintenance or mechanical system diagnostics Underground utilities or service line work Use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment Working in physically demanding environments (crawlspaces, attics, outdoor conditions)
