Health insurance Paid time off Competitive salary Dental insurance Opportunity for advancement Vision insurance Job Description Carhart Plumbing Inc. is seeking an experienced Residential & Commercial Service Plumbing Technician to provide professional plumbing service, diagnostics, repair, installation, and maintenance throughout Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties. The technician represents Carhart Plumbing Inc. while working in occupied homes, estates, offices, retail spaces, and other commercial properties. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional technical skill, sound judgment, discretion, cleanliness, communication, and respect for each client's property and privacy.
WHITE-GLOVE SERVICE STANDARD
Every visit should protect the client's property, privacy, time, operations, and confidence in Carhart Plumbing Inc. The technician must communicate clearly, work neatly, document accurately, and leave the work area clean and orderly. Core Responsibilities Perform residential and commercial plumbing diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, fixture replacements, and installations in occupied homes, estates, offices, retail spaces, and other commercial properties. Accurately diagnose plumbing problems, explain findings in clear nontechnical language, and present recommended repair options to the client or authorized representative before proceeding. Protect floors, walls, cabinetry, furnishings, landscaping, and finished surfaces using appropriate drop cloths, shoe protection, barriers, and clean work practices. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and company vehicle; arrive prepared with appropriate tools, common service materials, and required safety equipment. Treat clients, family members, household staff, estate managers, property managers, vendors, and other trades with courtesy, patience, and discretion. Respect client privacy and confidentiality. Do not discuss client identities, property details, valuables, security systems, or work performed outside company-authorized communication. Photograph and document conditions before, during, and after work when appropriate; record labor, materials, findings, and next-step recommendations in company systems. Use InFlow, company iPad or tablet, email, and other company systems for timekeeping, materials, scheduling, communication, and service documentation. Request stock, specialty materials, equipment, or support in a timely manner so client service is not delayed. Coordinate professionally with the Service Manager, office staff, property managers, contractors, designers, and other trades when service work affects larger projects or occupied areas. Identify potential additional plumbing concerns observed during service and communicate them responsibly without creating unnecessary alarm or pressure. Follow all company safety procedures, applicable Florida plumbing requirements, manufacturer instructions, and accepted trade practices. Assist or direct apprentices or helpers when assigned while maintaining responsibility for workmanship, professionalism, and site condition. Perform other duties assigned by management. Residential and Commercial Client Service Expectations Call or communicate as directed before arrival; be punctual and notify the office immediately of delays or schedule changes. Introduce yourself professionally, confirm the scope of the visit, and ask about property-specific rules before beginning work. Use respectful language and maintain a calm, solution-oriented demeanor even when the client is frustrated or the repair is complex. Keep noise, dust, debris, doors or gates left open, and disruption to household or business operations to the minimum practical level. Never use client furniture, tools, supplies, equipment, or other property without permission.
Provide a clear completion summary:
what was found, what was repaired, what remains, and any recommended follow-up. Before leaving, verify operation of the repaired system, remove all debris and protective materials, and leave the area clean and presentable. Escalate sensitive client concerns, property damage, scope changes, pricing disputes, or unusual conditions to the Service Manager promptly. Able to explain issues and options clearly to homeowners, business owners, facility managers, and property representatives and respond to company communications throughout the workday. | Professionalism & Discretion | Maintains professional appearance, respectful conduct, confidentiality, and awareness appropriate to high-value residences, commercial properties, and private clients. | Time & Service Management | Arrives on time, manages multiple service calls appropriately, keeps accurate time and records, and communicates early when a job may exceed the scheduled window. | Technology | Comfortable using tablets, computers, email, InFlow, digital photos, plans, submittals, and other company applications. | Physical Capability | Able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, work in attics or crawlspaces or exterior conditions as required, and work safely in South Florida heat. Technical Requirements Minimum of five years of professional plumbing service experience required. Valid driver's license required; must be able to safely operate a company service vehicle. OSHA 10-Hour certification. Proficient with soldering/brazing and copper fitting, PVC, CPVC, PEX crimp, Uponor cold expansion, cast iron, and common residential and commercial plumbing systems. Working knowledge of gas-piping methods used by the company, including galvanized and corrugated stainless systems, when assigned and qualified. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturer literature, plans, and submittals. Ability to locate and interpret applicable Florida Building Code and Plumbing Code requirements for assigned work. Proficient with computer or tablet use, email, digital photo documentation, and company communication systems. Journeyman's license preferred but not required. Performance Expectations Complete service calls safely, correctly, and with minimal callbacks. Protect the client experience as carefully as the plumbing repair itself. Maintain accurate service notes, time entries, material usage, photos, and follow-up items. Keep company truck stock, tools, and equipment organized, secure, and within assigned stock limits. Communicate problems early rather than allowing delays, missing materials, or client concerns to become surprises. Build client trust through workmanship, reliability, cleanliness, and professional conduct that supports repeat business and referrals. Travel and Service Area The primary service area is Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties, Florida. Travel outside the normal service area may occasionally be required based on company needs. A valid driver's license is required. A passport is not required but is preferred if future company travel needs arise. Compensation and Benefits Competitive compensation starting at $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. 50% healthcare match after one year of employment, or earlier if determined by management. Five paid vacation/holiday days throughout the year as determined by management. After one year of tenure, the employee receives five additional paid vacation days.
