The Plumber performs skilled trades work at the journeyman level maintaining and repairing plumbing and related equipment.Essential Functions:
1. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing and irrigation systems. 2. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on boilers and pumps that circulate water systems and piping. 3. Researches, orders, and receives parts from vendors, taking into consideration availability, cost, product value, warranty periods, and ease of installation. 4. Performs troubleshooting and repairs to irrigation systems. 5. Assists other trades with plumbing issues/problems. 6. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. 2. Four years of experience in the plumbing trade at the journeyman level. 3. Valid Florida driver's license with the ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of employment, with acceptable driving record.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Florida State Journeyman Plumbing License.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of and ability to effectively use plumbing materials, power and manual tools, and other equipment customarily used in the trade. 2. Good judgment and decision-making skills regarding complex plumbing maintenance and repairs. 3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 4. Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 5. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor. 6. Committed to working in in a multicultural environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT andSPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
1. Works inside and outside environment, at College campuses and College-owned buildings, with exposure to various weather conditions. 2. Will be exposed to fumes, solvents, and combustible materials. 3. Will be required to wear protective gear. 4. Will be required to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. 5. Ability to stand and walk for considerable periods of time. 6. Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, unassisted. 7. Ability to climb and use ladders extensively. 8. Required to drive College vehicles.PHYSICAL ABILITY ASSESSMENT
