Full-Time | On-Site About the Role A well-established and growing mechanical services contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Service Plumber to support industrial, commercial, and select residential service operations throughout the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana market. This position is ideal for a hands-on Journeyman Service Plumber with strong troubleshooting abilities, customer-facing experience, and the ability to work independently in the field. The role involves both routine preventative maintenance and emergency service work across a variety of plumbing systems and facilities. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and emergency plumbing service work in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. Diagnose plumbing system issues and complete repairs efficiently and safely. Handle service calls independently with limited supervision while maintaining professionalism with customers and site personnel. Maintain accurate service documentation, repair records, and preventative maintenance schedules using electronic devices. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite requirements. Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and internal teams regarding job progress and service updates. Participate in rotating on-call schedules, including nights and weekends as required. Travel throughout the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana service territory. Required Qualifications Active State of Illinois Plumbing License and/or City of Chicago Plumbing License. Current membership with UA Local 130. Prior commercial service plumbing experience is required. Strong troubleshooting and field service background. Ability to work independently and manage multiple service responsibilities. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred). Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for electronic documentation and reporting. Strong communication skills and customer-service mindset. Preferred Qualifications RPZ Certification preferred. Experience handling preventative maintenance programs and emergency service response. Previous experience working in industrial and commercial facilities. Additional Information Company vehicle and field support provided.
