- Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Plumber to support operations at the General Motors Technical Center, one of the most advanced automotive research and engineering campuses in the world. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a licensed plumber who takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and working in a professional, industrial facilities environment.
- An active State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber license or card is required for this role.
- Job Responsibilities
- + Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and piping systems in a large-scale industrial facility + Work with
- water, drainage, steam, heating, cooling, and industrial process piping systems
- + Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures + Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications + Test piping systems for leaks and proper operation + Install and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and related equipment + Perform routine plumbing and pipefitting work independently + Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work + Support fabrication shop and service departments as needed + Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required + Mentor apprentices and support team members + Follow all Aramark and GM Technical Center safety and housekeeping standards At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers.
- Qualifications
- + •Active State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber license or Journeyman card•+ 7+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience + Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and safe work practices + Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications + Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team + High school diploma or equivalent + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical trade work + This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
