Job Description

Position Overview Promotes and supports public health by performing technical work involving the review of plans and inspection of plumbing installations to ensure compliance with Ohio and local plumbing laws and regulations. This role ensures safe plumbing practices, regulatory compliance, and protection of community health. Essential Duties Review plumbing plans and specifications for code compliance Conduct inspections of plumbing installations in commercial and residential settings Enforce Ohio and local plumbing codes and sanitary regulations Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints related to plumbing systems Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation Provide technical guidance to contractors, businesses, and the public Respond to complaints and ensure timely resolution Perform physically demanding fieldwork, including climbing ladders and accessing confined spaces Support public health initiatives through regulatory compliance activities Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of practical plumbing experience, including work related to sanitary regulations Strong knowledge of Ohio and local plumbing laws and regulations Plumbing Inspector Unlimited Certification issued by the Ohio Department of Commerce Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems and best practices Valid driver's license (required for fieldwork) Physical Requirements Ability to climb extension ladders Lift manhole covers and grease trap lids (65-75 lbs.) Carry tools and equipment (5-60 lbs.) Access roofs and basement pits, including climbing vertical ladders
Position Details Schedule:
37 hours/week
Monday-Thursday:
7:00 AM - 3:30
PM Friday:
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM May include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay Rate:
$29.72/hour
