JOB SUMMARY
Radon Environmental Services LLC is currently hiring a Radon Service Technician/Installer. This role conducts general labor and skilled tasks to mitigate high levels of radon gas in residential and commercial buildings by installing, repairing, and maintaining ventilation and depressurization systems. Basic responsibilities include familiarity with hand and power tools and ladders. Some plumbing and electrical experience is also helpful.
COMPENSATION
Hourly Pay & Benefits - Negotiable & Based on translatable skills, experience and/or certifications.
CRITICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record. Must possess reliable transportation to and from the main office location.
Work Environment:
Technicians work in both residential and commercial settings. Must be adaptive and confident to work in basements, crawlspaces and other confined areas to perform installations.
Schedule:
Must be available to work Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM. No weekends No on-call
Travel:
The role includes travel to and from customer locations throughout each day, utilizing a company vehicle and tools.
CRITICAL DUTIES INCLUDE
System Installation:
Conduct measurements and environment assessment for job planning. Proper installation of radon mitigation equipment, such as sub-slab depressurization systems, which involve drilling, piping and installing fans.
System Repair:
Conduct system evaluation to determine repair needs of mitigation systems. Service and repair existing radon systems to ensure continued effectiveness and proper operation.
Compliance & Reporting:
Knowledge and/or an eagerness to learn industry standards, local regulations, and company protocols for testing, mitigation and reporting. Ability to document work and submit required reports, which may include system photos.
Professionalism :
Ability to work independently and in a team environment with integrity, professionalism and providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude:
Ability to learn, work with and understand mechanical components like piping and fans, as well as electrical wiring for system components.
Construction Skills:
Basic carpentry and construction skills for tasks such as drilling, sealing, and working within building structures.
Technical Skills:
Skill in operating tools, diagnosing and resolving issues with systems.
Communication:
Strong communication skills to provide required customer service interaction with customers and provide management with essential feedback to maintain and improve company policies and processes..
Certification:
Not required, but highly preferred for this position. National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) or the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB), certification to perform measurement and mitigation services.
