Commercial Plumber Job Description This role focuses on installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial and industrial buildings. You will work with a variety of piping materials and fixtures to support water distribution and wastewater disposal for new construction projects. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and related plumbing systems for water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial and industrial buildings. Work on new construction projects, completing rough-in and finish plumbing according to project specifications and timelines. Install and connect PVC, CPVC, PEX, copper, cast iron, black pipe, gas pipe, and related fittings for commercial applications. Set and install toilets, sinks, tubs, and other plumbing fixtures in accordance with building codes and manufacturer specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to plan and execute plumbing layouts. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, assemble, join, and secure piping systems. Solder, thread, and fit various pipe materials to ensure secure, leak-free connections. Collaborate with a small crew and other trades on commercial construction sites to coordinate work and resolve issues. Perform general labor tasks related to plumbing installation, including measuring, cutting, lifting, and positioning materials. Follow safety protocols and site regulations while working in outdoor and indoor commercial environments. Essential Skills 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience, including work on new construction projects. Proficiency installing and working with PEX, copper, PVC, CPVC, black pipe, gas pipe, and cast iron. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for commercial plumbing systems. Experience setting and installing toilets, sinks, tubs, and other commercial plumbing fixtures. Strong skills in soldering, fitting, and assembling various pipe materials. Capability to use hand tools and power tools commonly used in commercial plumbing and construction. Demonstrated experience working on commercial construction sites with small crews. Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including winter. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of commercial plumbing experience considered for candidates with strong hands-on skills. Background in general labor tasks related to plumbing and commercial construction. Experience installing black iron piping and gas piping systems. Familiarity with commercial construction processes and coordination with other trades. Ability to work independently and as part of a small crew on active job sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
