Job Title:
Plumber Job Description Join a dynamic team in the Facilities Management department where you'll provide essential plumbing support across a vibrant campus. This role offers the opportunity to thrive in an engaging work environment with rotating shifts, including 10-hour opportunities for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Responsibilities Repair and maintain equipment related to compressed air, water, sewage, and gas systems. Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose plumbing system issues. Install waste, water, and compressed air systems using various instructions and drawings. Conduct inspections and perform backflow testing on plumbing systems. Install pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials. Install, repair, and maintain domestic and laboratory plumbing fixtures. Requisition job parts and supplies. Maintain a clean and safe shop area. Operate power tools and smartphones. Document work by completing electronic work orders. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Ability to work various shifts, including overtime and call-out availability. Effective communication skills and teamwork capabilities. Ability to work independently and make decisions on when to seek additional help. Attention to detail with accurate reporting and record-keeping. Physical ability to move and work in confined spaces and at heights. Ability to lift 40 pounds overhead and work in inclement conditions. Passing a physical exam for respirator clearance when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Graduation from a trade school or apprenticeship program as a journeyman plumber. Minimum of three years of journeyman level experience, preferably in a large institution.For Plumber II:
Minimum of four years of experience, Allegheny County Master Plumber's License, ASSE Backflow Certification, and Certified Pool Operator Certification. Why Work Here?
