Job Description

Lead Plumber The Lead Plumber will be deployed in El Paso, TX. This role is critical for overseeing plumbing operations in a dynamic and resource-constrained environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership under pressure, operational reporting acumen, and the ability to think outside the box. This position demands a technically skilled, self-reliant leader capable of managing a team and optimizing plumbing operations across multiple facilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a department of onsite plumbers with a focus on performance, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Oversee installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of plumbing systems, pumps, and fixtures including macerator, vortex, vacuum, and booster pump systems. Vacuum Flush Technology knowledge Ensure timely response to emergency plumbing issues during and outside normal hours, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving in high-stress situations.
  • Support operational planning by identifying innovative solutions to logistical challenges and recommending systems enhancements.
Supervise and perform hands-on cutting, fitting, connection, and installation of plumbing piping, equipment, fixtures, and systems Supervise and perform hands-on diagnosis, repair, and scheduled preventative maintenance on existing plumbing systems, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure Maintain various plumbing systems both inside and outside of buildings Maintain effective communication between departments and may represent the plumbing department as needed at operational meetings.
  • Maintain meticulous records of team activities, material usage, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure quality assurance, adherence to codes, and effective risk mitigation. Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
  • Interpret complex mechanical schematics, O&M manuals, and piping layouts to inform strategic decision-making.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and disassemble pump equipment to determine cause of failure, overall condition of pumps and components Develop, review, and deliver comprehensive reports on plumbing infrastructure status, work orders, and maintenance performance. Repair or replace the defective parts, mechanical seals, bearings, shafts, wear rings, O-rings, gaskets, and impellers
  • Collaborate with other facilities teams to coordinate cross-functional support involving plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Supervise staff training and skill development, ensuring readiness and versatility across tasks.
  • Assist with maintenance of water and wastewater systems
  • Assist other teams and departments as needed with related duties. Skills & Qualifications
  • Journeyman license, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Five years of documented experience in all phases of the plumbing trade including piping, fixture installation, and service, repair, design and layout of plumbing systems
  • Understanding of waste vacuum technology, a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanics
  • Familiarity with common tools and basic plumbing
  • Familiarity with basic construction, carpentry, and electrical functions
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Available to work various hours including nights, holidays, and weekends when needed. Be prepared to work 12-hour shifts during critical project phases (day or night), with reduced hours during the operations/maintenance phase
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.Must be able to pass a background check, security clearance check, motor vehicle check and drug test
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record
  • Must have minimum 5 years of Lead Plumber/Plumber Supervisor experience Other Responsibilities
