Job DescriptionThe Plumber will be responsible for assisting in efficient operation of all campus plumbing systems. This role involves assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing infrastructure, including water, gas, and sewage systems across various campus buildings and facilities. This Plumber will work closely with the Senior Plumber to support a safe and functional environment for students, faculty, and staff. The Target Hiring Range for the position is $23.59- $25.95/ Hour The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience

Essential Functions:

Maintenance and Repair:

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment including pipes, faucets, toilets, and water heaters.

Safety and Compliance:

Assist in conducting regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.

Building Access:

Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.

Equipment Management:

Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.

Vehicle Operation:

Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.

Communication and Collaboration:

Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.

Physical Exertion:

Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.

Additional Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Two years combined training in apprenticeship and experience in trade. Applicable license (Water Operator Class A-D) or ability to obtain license within the first year of employment. Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Exertion:

Significant physical effort and strength required daily, often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.

Exposure:

Regular exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, and temperature extremes.

Risk:

Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
