Position Summary Voigt-Abernathy is seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to inspect, repair, rebuild, and test a wide variety of industrial pumps and rotating equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and committed to producing high-quality workmanship while delivering outstanding customer service. This position works both in our repair facility and occasionally at customer locations. Primary Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical failures on industrial pumps and rotating equipment. Inspect, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and related equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete pump overhauls. Install, align, and commission new pumping equipment. Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and repair documentation. Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate service records. Recommend repair options and replacement parts. Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members. Assist with field service assignments as needed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Minimum of two years of experience repairing industrial pumps or rotating equipment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Experience working with one or more of the following: Centrifugal pumps Air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps Positive displacement pumps Rotary lobe pumps Gear pumps Vacuum pumps Mechanical seals and bearing installation Laser alignment equipment Vibration analysis and predictive maintenance Industrial maintenance, millwright, or rotating equipment experience is highly valued.
