Job Description

Job Description Our local government client is seeking an Entry-Level Pump Station Specialist to join their growing Public Works team in Petersburg, VA. This individual will support the inspection and operational oversight of water and sewer pumping stations to ensure reliable system performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections of water, sewer, and pumping station equipment to assess condition and functionality. Assist with the coordination and execution of scheduled service activities for pumping stations, working independently or alongside external vendors. Monitor pump station alarms and support appropriate response actions in accordance with established procedures. Evaluate equipment components across multiple stations and support adjustments or component changes as needed to maintain system operations. Coordinate the availability of tools, parts, and supplies required to support station activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate documentation related to inspections, service activities, inventory tracking, and equipment reporting. Adhere to applicable safety procedures and operational standards, including confined space protocols and lockout/tagout requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall departmental operations.
Pay Rate Range:
$17/hr
