JOB DESCRIPTION
Location:
Powder River Basin area near Gillette, Wyoming Wood is hiring a Pump Shop Technician to support field operations in the Powder River Basin. This role is ideal for hands-on, mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working in outdoor environments and supporting oilfield operations. RESPONSIBILITIES JOB SCOPE
Perform hands-on assembly, disassembly, installation, and servicing of steel stage pumps, submersible motors, and downhole equipment. Work is performed in pump shops, yards, and remote field locations. This role involves heavy lifting, extended hours, and exposure to all weather conditions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(not listed in any particular order) Assemble and disassemble steel stage pumps and submersible motors Install and service downhole pumping equipment in field locations Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed Safely operate power tools, forklifts, hoists, and lifting equipment Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, hazard-free work area Follow all safety policies, job procedures, and work instructions Work independently or as part of a field team Communicate with supervisors and customers regarding equipment status
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience Ability to work outdoors in remote locations and harsh weather Comfortable with physical demands and extended/overtime hours Experience using power tools and shop equipment Ability to follow written and verbal job instructions Strong safety awareness and job-site discipline Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing Preferred Experience Pump shop or artificial lift experience Workover rig or oilfield service experience Field-based mechanical or maintenance background Ideal Candidate Safety-first mindset Reliable, self-motivated, and physically capable Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
