Job Description
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for an OEM Applications Specialist to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA . The OEM Applications Specialist will communicate and perform Yamaha Outboard engineering and rigging and product performance training, testing, and communicates requirements for OEM boat builder accounts assigned to a specific territory. This position will address basic to moderately complex technical and engineering issues. What you'll be doing: Participate in the planning and execution of Yamaha dealer meetings, OEM meetings (Boat Builder and Sales), photo shoots, special events support, industry trade and retail Boat Shows to provide technical expertise on more complex and application focused issues Report recommendations for product improvements, new product suggestions, and problems discovered under "real world" operating conditions Assist OEM Sales managers and coordinators with Bill of Materials creation, obtaining Yamaha rigging component orders, PowerMatched compliance, and monitoring outboard rigging component inventories for each assigned boat builder account Maintain accurate and orderly boat builder files, including model specific rigging needs and requirements for optimum set-up and performance Participating in Yamaha's Sales and Service Seminars include leveraging existing training materials to assist with training for boat builders' in-house staff and independent boat sales representatives (i.e. new product, sales techniques, system operations, etc.) Use considerable technical knowledge to maintain and test Yamaha Outboard engines within an assigned territory Develop OEM technical communications and training for current and future product changes, as well as engine, rigging, and installation updates Prepare reports on Yamaha boat builder partner account activities, production, model development, programs, retail sales, etc., call reports, expense reports, incident reports, product improvement requests, monthly itineraries, and weekly recaps What you need to be successful: High School Diploma or equivalent Marine Industry Service certifications Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on technical experience in marine manufacturing, engineering, service, and maintenance Requires proficiency in YAMAHA systems (i.e. YMBS, YDIS, and Warranty) and understanding of YAMAHA Outboard and Marine Industry product knowledge Requires a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a field-based role and is willing and able to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory. Clean driving record and DOT approved health certificate to operate company vehicle. Requires demonstrated fluency in vessel operation and strong, safety-focused driving skills, along with possession of a valid U.S. Coast Guard OUPV (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels) Captain's License.
