Full Job Description Job Title:

Wire Harness Technician (Contract)

Location:

San Jose, CA Duration:

12-

Month Contract Pay Rate:

$30

•40 / hour

Job Responsibilities Assembly & Documentation:

Read and interpret manufacturing assembly processes and mechanical drawings.

Tool Operation:

Utilize wire stripping and crimping tools, heat guns, exacto knives, torque tools, and soldering irons.

Engineering Changes:

Track engineering changes and perform rework to incorporate harness Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as required.

Testing & Fabrication:

Perform flight harness testing (including maintaining all test adapters), fabricate fixtures for spacecraft harnesses, and support engineering in building newly developed harnesses and CI & I projects.

Field Support:

Perform harness rework in test environments and support harness work in other areas, including off-site locations and travel as needed.

Training & Mentorship:

Provide guidance and training to newcomers and less-experienced technicians.

Certifications Management:

Maintain current technical certifications for Flight Harness and Cable, NASA Solder, and Torque, alongside all required facility certifications for ESD, Contamination Control, Flight Hardware Handling, and Hazardous Waste Management.

Minimum Requirements Citizenship:

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of related electrical, mechanical, or electronic assembly experience, which must include 2 years of wire harness fabrication for the aerospace industry.

Physical & Schedule Demands:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Skills & Experience Inspection:

Ability to inspect your own work using a microscope up to 10x magnification.

R D Support:

Experience working with pre-released engineering and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to develop non-flight hardware in an R D capacity.

Equipment Operation:

Skill in operating automated wire cutting and labeling machines, as well as various hand-to-power crimp tools.

Software:

Proficient with computers and experienced using Microsoft Office. IND2

Are you open to performing harness rework in test environments, off-site locations, and traveling when business needs require it? Do you have experience inspecting your own assembly work using a microscope up to 10x magnification? Have you ever worked with pre-released engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to build non-flight hardware in an R D capacity?
