About Us Chicago Marine Canvas is a well-established marine canvas and upholstery shop serving the Chicago harbor system, including Winthrop Harbor and parts of Michigan. We specialize in custom boat covers, enclosures, upholstery, repairs, and industrial sewing. Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Installer / Field Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role working both in our shop and on-site at marinas. No prior canvas experience required—we're willing to train the right candidate. Responsibilities Assist with installation of boat canvas and marine upholstery Transport (pickup/delivery) of canvas repairs to boats and marinas Operate automated CAD cutting equipment (training provided) Support general shop operations and workflow Requirements Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills Comfortable working on boats and near water (boating experience a plus) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic experience with hand and power tools Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over distances Valid driver's license preferred Must pass background check and provide work references Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 40 hours per week Overtime available (paid at 1.5x) Why Work With Us?
