Non-Exempt, Hourly Position Overview The Truss and Rigging Supervisor leads the Truss and Rigging Technicians in the efficient preparation, inspection, and deployment of equipment for various projects. This role involves overseeing gear pulling, truss inspections, touch-up tasks, and truck loading, while ensuring all equipment meets quality and safety standards. This position organizes orders based on project timelines, trains team members on best practices, and collaborates with the Warehouse Manager to improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Provide effective supervision and coordination of the Truss and Rigging Technicians, ensuring the smooth and efficient preparation of equipment for various projects. Spend time overseeing and guiding the Truss and Rigging Technicians in pulling gear, inspecting truss, performing touch-up paint tasks, and assisting with loading trucks. Prioritize and organize truss and rigging orders based on project timelines. Conduct regular inspections of truss and rigging equipment, ensuring it meets quality standards and is ready for use. Train and mentor Truss and Rigging Technicians, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and efficient work methods. Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to optimize truss and rigging operations, suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency. Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to truss and rigging equipment, coordinating with project managers and other supervisors. Ensure accurate labeling and identification of all truss and rigging equipment to facilitate easy tracking and setup during projects. Uphold and enforce safety standards and protocols in all truss and rigging activities, fostering a culture of safety among team members. Any other action deemed reasonable or significant by management. Requirements Previous experience in truss and rigging operations or a related field. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team. In-depth knowledge of truss and rigging safety standards, protocols, and best practices. Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure accuracy and quality in truss and rigging equipment preparation. Ability to perform touch-up paint tasks, basic maintenance on equipment, and assist with loading trucks. Familiarity with inventory management systems and organizational skills to manage multiple orders. Physical ability to handle and move truss and rigging equipment, including lifting and carrying moderately heavy items. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50-75 lbs. independently and heavier loads with team assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, climb, and reach regularly throughout the workday. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate tools and equipment. Ability to work on platforms, scaffolding, and lifts, while adhering to fall-protection. Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods, often in fast-paced or time-sensitive environments. Ability to work in varied conditions, including indoor warehouse environments and outdoor job sites, sometimes in inclement weather. Must be able to wear and properly use all required PPE (personal protective equipment), including safety harnesses, helmets, and gloves. Keep staging equipment organized, clean and stored in the proper designated areas. Working Conditions This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Shift schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on business needs.
