We are seeking an experienced Rigger to join our team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient, effective rigging of high value, complex, medical equipment for the customer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and/or rigging. This is a physically demanding role that requires a high level of skill and attention to detail. Mechanical skills are also needed for installation of equipment. Seeking individual in the Plainfield area who can work as needed primarily in the northeastern U.S., other areas of the U.S. as well as travel to Canada as needed.Responsibilities:
- Up to 100% travel throughout the country; limited travel outside of U.S., Thursday to Monday
- Responsible to follow all safety OSHA guidelines
- Maintains a safe work environment through safe work practices
- To provide a safe & timely rigging of system to the customer
- Represents MEI, Inc. & customer in professional as well as courteous manner including appearance
- Maintain integrity of confidential information
- Complies with SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) & policies, customer requirements & statutory & regulatory guidelines
- Assists in coordination of forklifts, cranes, toolboxes frames, supplies, etc.
- Assists in coordination of field delivery, ensuring quality customer product delivery (includes damage free equipment & site) & corrects equipment verification for damage from outside vendors. Escalates issues or concerns to Lead Rigger.
- Email/Fax Logistics completed paperwork on jobs, Delivery Report Surveys, vendor's bills for service, any bills of lading, signed Delivery Receipt & Out of Scope
- Initiates, develops, & fosters excellent supplier as well as customer relationships
- Recognizes & communicates potential issues to appropriate parties, as needed
- Makes sound decisions based on safety and risk factors
- Works along with & follows directions of Lead Rigger for assigned job
- Occasional mechanical assistance at job site as needed
- Complies with customer & ISO 9001:2015 requirements
Qualifications :
- Must be able to perform each responsibility above in satisfactorily manner
- Up to 2 years rigging or moving experience in construction services or related industry
- Must be able to travel up to 100% going to jobsite Thursday & returning home on Monday primarily, depending on job location
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or some college, preferred
- Basic understanding & ability to navigate & use email, Microsoft office products, apps via cell phone & the internet
- Ability to speak effectively before groups or individually of/with customers or employees
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues including effective interpretation & use of construction basic hand signals
- Ability to read and interpret documents i.e., safety requirements, schematics/blueprints & maintenance instructions & procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports & correspondence.
- Monitor typical field safety & environmental conditions within designated facility & report deficient conditions in accordance with MEI, Inc. management and/or customer supplier.
- Prove & maintain a valid driver's license & clean driving record.
