Job Description

Southern Lifting and Hoisting is looking for an experienced Crane Rigger to join our East Texas operation. We are looking for proven field experience; not entry-level candidates. This position requires someone who understands crane rigging, works safely around suspended loads and heavy equipment, and can be counted on to perform professionally every day. Our riggers play a critical role in the safe execution of crane and lifting operations. You will work directly with crane operators and field crews to properly rig, control, position, and move loads across a variety of job sites. What You'll Do Perform rigging and signaling for crane operations Select and properly use slings, shackles, chokers, spreader bars, and other rigging equipment based on the load and job conditions Inspect rigging equipment before use and identify unsafe or damaged gear Support crane setup, lift execution, and breakdown Communicate clearly with crane operators using hand signals and/or radio communication Use taglines and proper rigging techniques to safely control and position suspended loads Participate in pre-lift planning, JSAs, and jobsite safety meetings Follow company, customer, OSHA, and applicable industry safety requirements Properly maintain and store rigging equipment What You Need to
Succeed Required:
Previous hands-on crane rigging experience Working knowledge of rigging practices, load control, and safe work around suspended loads Experience working safely around cranes and heavy equipment Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with crane operators and field crews Dependable work history and professional approach to the job Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions Valid driver's license Must live within 60 miles of our Kilgore, Texas shop

Rigger Certification Plant outage experience Refinery, oil & gas, industrial, or city/municipal project experience A Day in the Life You will work alongside experienced crane operators and field crews supporting lifting operations throughout East Texas and surrounding areas. Depending on the job, you may be inspecting and preparing rigging, helping set up a crane, signaling an operator, or controlling and positioning suspended loads.
