Job Description

This is an IBEW Union Position
  • Hourly Rate is $36.

The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the MASR supervisor (Mech, Rigg, CMEC, Millwright shop). All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed.
Responsibilities:
  • Lifting and transporting various large objects using lifting and rigging equipment.
  • Operating mobile and overhead cranes, forklifts, dollies, slings, shackles, come-a-longs, hoists, jacks, and assorted handle tools
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations to safely rig and move objects
  • Must be able to obtain certification to operate various types of equipment to include forklifts, vehicles of various sizes, and overhead cranes
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required. Six years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft, or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school, or trade program. Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations to safely rig and move objects. Must be able to obtain certification to operate various types of equipment to include forklifts, vehicles of various sizes, and overhead cranes. Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is advantageous. Must be able to effectively communicate well with others.
