The Rigger will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, rigging, and positioning of heavy machinery, structural components, and materials across various construction sites. This role is essential in ensuring that lifting operations are conducted with precision, adhering to safety standards, and supporting the successful completion of complex projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety protocols. Duties Set up and inspect rigging gear, including slings, hooks, shackles, and lifting devices, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition before use. Coordinate with crane operators and other team members to plan lift sequences and determine the safest rigging methods. Attach loads securely to cranes or other lifting machinery using appropriate rigging techniques. Monitor lifting operations continuously to ensure stability and safety throughout the process. Maintain detailed records of rigging activities, inspections, and equipment maintenance. Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and movement of heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, farm machinery, and tanker units. Follow all safety procedures and regulations related to construction site operations and heavy lifting activities. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites with heavy equipment operation including cranes, excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, and other machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment maintenance and operation. Valid commercial driver's license with experience operating front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, or tanker units preferred. Familiarity with rigging techniques for various loads including concrete mixers and farm machinery. Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA regulations related to lifting operations. Ability to read technical manuals and interpret load charts for different types of machinery. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members on-site.
