Job Description

Are you a skilled journey level tradesman seeking a dynamic career as a Roofer working for one of the fastest growing ports on the West Coast? The Port of Stockton has an exciting opportunity for a Roofer who will perform a full range of journey-level roof replacement and repair. The ideal candidate will be a team player, strong communicator, follows verbal and written instructions, and is able to work independently. Click here to view the Roofer recruitment brochure. Installs, maintains, and repairs various types of roofing systems including skylights associated with the roofs. Cuts roofing paper to size using a knife. Nails or staples paper to roof in overlapping strips to form a base for roofing materials. Cuts strips of flashing and fits them into angles formed by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces. Inspects, maintains, and repairs downspouts and gutters. Serves as a liaison between management and outside contractors to clearly and effectively communicate work issues and coordinate various work-related activities. Provides clear and effective communication of work-related information to internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to Port employees, tenants, and outside contractors in a timely manner; promptly discusses and relays any concerns or issues to management.
