Job Description

Position Summary The Seawall Builder is responsible for assisting in the construction, repair, and installation of seawalls and other marine structures. This position performs skilled and semi-skilled labor in support of marine construction projects, including the installation of seawall systems, pilings, tiebacks, concrete caps, riprap, docks, and related waterfront improvements. The Seawall Builder works as part of a crew under the direction of a Foreman and is expected to perform physically demanding work safely, efficiently, and with a commitment to quality craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and enjoys working outdoors in a marine construction environment. Essential Functions Construction & Installation Assist with the construction, repair, and replacement of seawalls. Install sheet piling, vinyl seawall systems, tiebacks, deadman anchors, and concrete caps. Perform excavation, grading, and site preparation activities. Assist with pile driving and marine structural installations. Measure, cut, assemble, and install construction materials according to project specifications. Place and finish concrete as required. Install riprap, erosion control materials, and shoreline stabilization systems. Assist with dock, boat lift, and waterfront structure construction as needed. Equipment & Tools Safely operate power tools and construction equipment. Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. Follow all company equipment operating procedures and safety guidelines. Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA, company safety, and jobsite requirements. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately. Maintain a clean and organized worksite. Teamwork & Customer Service Work effectively with foremen, crew members, subcontractors, and customers. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance on all jobsites. Represent Gulf & Bay Marine in a positive and professional manner. Assist with other marine construction activities as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more on a regular basis. Ability to work around water and marine construction environments. Reliable transportation to and from job sites. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Preferred Previous seawall construction experience. Marine construction experience. Construction, carpentry, concrete, excavation, or heavy equipment experience. OSHA 10 certification. Experience operating skid steers, excavators, or other construction equipment. Valid Florida driver's license. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, wind, and rain. Ability to work on seawalls, docks, barges, and waterfront properties. Ability to safely access construction areas near or over water. Work Environment Outdoor marine construction environment. Exposure to water, mud, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Regular work near waterways, seawalls, docks, and barges. Occasional overtime and weekend work based on project schedules.
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
