KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

Independently measure, sketch, fabricate, and install roofing-related and architectural sheet metal components including pitch cups, pitch pans, copper clads, box-off flashing, drip edge, valley flashing, and base flashing. Perform lead-tin soldering to produce watertight, finished-quality seams on copper and specialty metal substrates. Execute flat-seam and standing-seam copper roofing systems to manufacturer standards. Fabricate copper rainwater leader heads and custom architectural metalwork with radius characteristics (gooseneck vents, square-to-round fittings, decorative profiles). Develop and maintain mastery of gutter fabrication and installation, including custom runs and specialty profiles. Coordinate with tile, slate, and cedar shake crews to ensure proper metal integration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required 5+ years' experience in roofing or architectural Metalwork. Demonstrated lead-tin soldering proficiency Ability to independently measure, fabricate, and install custom sheet metal. Proven experience with flat-seam and standing-seam copper roofing systems Preferred Experience with lead-coated copper or zinc roofing systems Historical restoration or landmark property experience Familiarity with Ludowici tile, slate, or cedar shake metal integration details Apprenticeship or journeyman standing in the sheet metal trade

Pay:

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
