Journeyman Commercial Roofer

As a Journeyman, you will be responsible for executing complex roofing installations, repairs, and restoration work with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will help ensure durable, weather-resistant roofs that meet all project specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain commercial roofing systems using a variety of materials including membrane, metal, built-up, and single-ply roofs. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute roofing projects. Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites. Perform tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, masonry work, and tile laying as needed for roofing projects. Conduct site inspections to ensure safety protocols are followed and quality standards are met throughout each phase of construction or restoration. Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to coordinate work sequences and meet project deadlines. Assist in construction estimating by providing accurate assessments of materials and labor requirements. Skills Extensive experience with construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction site procedures. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, scaffolding setup, and heavy lifting techniques. Knowledge of roofing materials such as membrane systems, metal panels, stucco finishes, and built-up roofing techniques. Strong background in related trades including carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry (masonry), plumbing (plumbing), framing (frame carpentry), metal stud framing, restoration work, and handyman experience. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately to ensure precise installation. Familiarity with safety standards related to roofing work on commercial sites. Experience with fabrication processes relevant to roofing components and structural elements. Excellent problem-solving skills to adapt to unforeseen site conditions or project changes.
