Job Description

Butler Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Construction Technology courses at the El Dorado Correctional Facility . Construction Technology courses will be focused in one or more construction subject areas: OSHA10, Craft Fundamentals, Intro. to Craft Skills, Intro. to Carpentry, Floors and Stairs, Ceiling, Walls and Building Systems, Roofing and Exteriors, Cabinet Making and Installation, Intro. to Electrical, Intro. to Masonry, Intro. to HVAC & Plumbing, and/or Construction Management. Positive attitude and strong work ethic Desire to help students succeed in and outside the classroom Desire to learn Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. Work effectively and productively as a team member. Keep others informed of information needed. Treat others with respect, maintaining a spirit of cooperation. Maintain effective and professional verbal and written interactions with peers, students, supervisors, and other staff. Use diplomacy and tact in dealing with difficult situations or people. Demonstrate effective listening skills. Is receptive to constructive feedback. Ensures appropriate notification to supervisor for absences, and ensures that work is covered. Completes assigned work; meets deadlines without reminders/follow-up from supervisor or others. Perform work conscientiously with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to use a computer and software applications. Ability to meet deadlines.
