Job Description

About Bay View Painting Bay View Painting is a residential painting company serving the Midcoast Maine area, including Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Owls Head, and the surrounding towns. We're known for our attention to detail, integrity, and high-quality services. We offer steady, year-round employment , not seasonal layoffs. We're looking for a Prepper to handle the prep phase of our projects. It's one of the most important roles on the crew: the quality, longevity, and finish of every job starts with the prep work. What You'll Do As a Prepper, you set up every job for a flawless finish, working alongside the crew and reporting to the Site Coordinator.
Your day-to-day includes:
Scraping and sanding interior and exterior surfaces (trim and siding). Filling holes and imperfections with the right product and sanding them flush, so no flaw shows through the finish. Caulking trim and siding. Handling rotted wood/big Holes. Setting up and protecting the job site , laying drops and tarps to protect client property and getting tools and cords ready each morning. Keeping the site clean as you go and performing a thorough end-of-day breakdown, so every property is left cleaner than we found it. Taking part in the daily huddle , reporting yesterday's work honestly and flagging any surface, material, or safety risks for the day ahead. What We're Looking For A sharp eye for detail. Good prep is the foundation of great paint, and you take pride in getting surfaces right. Strong time management , you keep your work moving and stay on pace. Organized , you stay on top of your materials, tools, and workspace. A positive attitude that adds to the crew. Dependability. Willingness to learn , we provide in-house training, so the right attitude matters as much as the resume. Comfortable with physical, hands-on work (standing, ladders, lifting, and working with hand and power tools). A reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license (vehicle required). Prior painting or prep experience is a plus . What We Offer Year-round, full-time work , no seasonal layoffs. $20/hour. 10 paid days off per year , plus paid sick days and vacation time that grow with your time at the company. Job-Site Efficiency Bonus. In-house training to build and sharpen your skills. A starter kit provided to every employee. Retirement plan. Access to a professional spray shop and quality tools and materials. Room to grow with the company. How to Apply At Bay View Painting, we believe our team members are at their best when they feel supported in all areas of life. Apply today and join a company that values not just your work, but you as a person. Submit your application through Indeed. We'd love to hear about you and any hands-on or painting experience you have.
