Qualifications Roofing Full Job Description Summary:
The Journeyman Roofer II is an advanced roofer who demonstrates expert-level technical skill and leadership on commercial roofing projects. This role supports foremen by leading tasks, ensuring quality, and mentoring less experienced crew members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Lead installation of complex roofing assemblies and details (such as, ACM, or other systems as applicable) Read and interpret drawings, details, and manufacturer specifications Serve as a technical resource for the crew on multiple roofing systems Read and apply drawings and specifications to complete complex roofing tasks safely and accurately. Coordinate work activities with the foreman or superintendent Monitor and manage jobsite materials and inventory, proactively identifying shortages and coordinating with foremen to ensure timely replenishment and uninterrupted workflow Act as a safety and crew resource, consulting with foremen regarding behavioral or performance issues that could affect safety, quality, or team dynamics, and recommending solutions Operate independently to troubleshoot and resolve complex field challenges, applying advanced technical knowledge and sound judgment to maintain quality and productivity Verify installations meet manufacturer and company quality standards Troubleshoot complex field conditions and propose solutions Train and mentor assistant and journeyman-level roofers Enforce safety standards and model best practices Exercise stop-work authority to prevent serious safety violations and protect employees, property, and the worksite Handle equipment, tools, and materials responsibly, following proper care and safety procedures Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and jobsite housekeeping practices Education and/or
Experience:
4+ years of commercial roofing experience. OSHA 10-Hour & OSHA 30-Hour certification(s) preferred.
