Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Roofer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse roofing projects while honing your craftsmanship and technical skills. Duties Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper fit and alignment. Install roofing systems including shingles. Inspect roofs for damage or deterioration, performing repairs or replacements as needed to maintain structural integrity. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, framing, or applying underlayment to ensure a solid foundation for roofing materials. Use heavy lifting techniques and proper safety procedures when handling large or heavy roofing components. Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks on construction sites. Skills Proficiency in construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and material needs. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, and caulking guns. Experience with power tools including drills, nail guns, saws, and grinders for efficient installation work. Strong knowledge of roofing materials like shingles, and membrane systems. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Experience with fabrication techniques for custom roofing components or modifications. Knowledge of related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry (masonry work), plumbing (for roof drainage systems), welding (metal roof fabrication), and remodeling projects. Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required on construction sites. Skilled in restoration work involving roof repairs after storm damage or aging structures.
