Job Title:
Roofing Laborer Job Description This role supports the roofing crew by assisting with roof installation tasks, preparing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. You will collaborate closely with team members, apply your roofing and framing experience, and continue developing your skills in a modular building manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assist the roofing crew with basic roofing tasks and daily production activities. Measure and prepare materials for the roof station according to plans and specifications. Ensure all necessary roofing materials and supplies are in place and readily available for the roof station crew. Read and follow detailed written and oral instructions, including blueprints and layout plans. Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly during installation and fabrication tasks. Support installation of shingles, TPO, and EPDM roofing systems as directed. Assist with sheet metal and sheet metal fabrication tasks as needed. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and maintain a positive work environment. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including regular cleanup of the roof station and surrounding workspace. Follow construction and modular manufacturing procedures to ensure high-quality workmanship. Identify and communicate issues or potential problems to supervisors and team members. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production and project goals. Essential Skills Prior roofing or framing experience. Must have shingling experience. Experience with shingles, TPO, and EPDM roof installations. At least six months of construction framing experience or three months working in a modular manufacturing facility. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Basic knowledge of roofing materials, roofing tools, and construction tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed plans. Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions. Strong attention to detail to produce high-quality work. Effective problem-solving skills in a construction environment. Strong work ethic and reliability. Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision. Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely. Ability to work well as part of a roofing and construction team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with sheet metal and sheet metal fabrication. General construction and fabrication experience. Demonstrated pride in achieving company and personal goals. Ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive team environment. Work Environment Work takes place in a modular building manufacturing facility within a covered building. The facility does not have air conditioning or heat, so temperatures can vary with the seasons. You will work around construction materials, roofing products, sheet metal, and fabrication equipment, as well as hand tools and power tools. The role requires working on and around roof stations, standing for extended periods, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace in an active production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aumsville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
