until filled Roofer Center for Education Services Grade 9 of the ESP Salary Scale ($22.88 - $41.38) 8 Hours/Day, 12-Month Work Year Employee Benefits Summary Role Overview Under the general direction of the Structural Foreman, the primary function of this position are duties associated with roofing, including installation, maintenance, inspections and repairs. As part of the Maintenance team, other tasks will also be assigned that include carpentry, painting, assisting with HVAC maintenance, and light plumbing. WCPS utilizes a team approach for maintaining its buildings to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment, A successful candidate should be a team player and be willing to work with all trade groups to assist team members in completion of various tasks unrelated to roofing. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma/GED. Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years' experience in the installation and maintenance of commercial roofing systems. Including, but not limited to single and multi-ply systems such as TPO, Asphalt sheet, EPDM, shingle, metal, and built-up roofs. Ability to read specifications and work from blueprints. Four (4) years' experience maintaining and repairing gutters, downspouts, roof drains and flashing. Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and mechanical man lifts. Possess a valid driver's license with no court ordered restrictions. Must have the ability to use workplace technology to perform daily tasks, including, but not limited to, online training, composing, sending, and receiving emails, and use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work order fulfillment. Must be able to report to work on time and work overtime as needed Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. The ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications OSHA certification. Fall prevention and protection training. Role Responsibilities Ability to use both hand tools and power tools Make watertight repairs to all roofing systems. Make proper flashing repairs, gutters, and downspouts. Identify different roofing materials and their proper use. Perform carpentry work related to roofing. and as directed by Structural Foreman. Apply materials according to manufacturer's written instructions. Perform all tasks from work orders listing time and materials. Willing and able to perform or help in other trades, such as but not limited to carpentry, painting, HVAC, and plumbing Perform painting and caulking on building envelopes to ensure watertight facilities. Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools. Other duties as assigned.
